Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 23, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mira AI ("Mira", "the Service", "we", "us"), including the Mira desktop application and the Mira web application available at mira.eduverseapp.net/app. By accessing or using Mira, you agree to these Terms.
2. Acceptance of Terms
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use Mira. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in "Changes to the Service" below; continued use of Mira after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. The Mira AI Service
Mira is a personal AI assistant. Depending on your device and configuration, Mira may process your requests using a self-hosted local AI model running on your device, a self-hosted model running on Mira's own server infrastructure, or (where explicitly enabled) a third-party cloud AI provider. Mira also includes optional web research functionality that can search the web and fetch web pages to help answer your questions, and a memory feature that can store and recall facts you share with it across conversations, scoped to your account.
Not every capability described on the Mira website is available at every point in time or on every platform. Features are clearly labeled where they are still "coming soon" or in active development.
4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Mira's responses, including responses that reference web research results, are generated by an AI model and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Mira does not independently verify every claim it makes against ground truth, and AI models — including the ones Mira uses — can misinterpret, misstate, or embellish information even when given accurate source material. Do not rely on Mira as your sole source for decisions involving health, legal, financial, safety, or other high-stakes matters. You are responsible for independently verifying any information you intend to rely on.
5. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide to Mira and for how you use its output.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You must not use Mira in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
6. Account and Authentication
Creating an account requires authenticating through Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google sign-in). Your identity is verified server-side on every request that touches your data — the application itself is never treated as the sole source of truth for who you are. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Mira to generate content that is illegal, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with Mira's security, authentication, or rate-limiting mechanisms.
- Attempt to access another user's conversations, memory, or account data.
- Use Mira's web research functionality to attempt to access internal, private, or non-public network resources.
- Reverse-engineer or misuse the Service in a way that degrades it for other users.
8. Intellectual Property
Mira, its name, logo, design, source code, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of the Mira project and its owner(s). Nothing in these Terms transfers any Mira intellectual property to you or to any third party, including Eduverse. See "Mira, Eduverse, and the mira.eduverseapp.net Subdomain" below for the specific relationship between Mira and Eduverse.
9. User Content
"User Content" means the messages, text, and other information you provide to Mira, including anything you ask Mira to remember or store as part of its knowledge feature. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you allow Mira to process, store, and use it solely to operate the Service for you — for example, to generate responses, retrieve relevant memories, and retrieve knowledge you've previously shared. Mira does not use your User Content to train shared AI models.
10. Third-Party Services
Mira relies on third-party infrastructure and services to operate, including Firebase (authentication), Google Cloud Platform (hosting), Neon (database hosting), and — where web research is enabled — Tavily (web search) and, where explicitly enabled, Anthropic (optional cloud AI provider). Your use of Mira is also subject to the extent those providers process data on Mira's behalf, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Web Research and External Websites
When you ask Mira to research something, Mira may fetch content from external websites and include that content, or a summary of it, in its response, typically with source links. Mira does not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or availability of external websites. Search results and fetched pages are subject to the bounds and safeguards described in the Privacy Policy (for example, a bounded crawl depth and page count, and safeguards against fetching internal/private network addresses).
12. Service Availability
Mira is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Mira is currently offered as a staging/early-access product, and features, capacity, and usage limits may change without prior notice.
13. Mira, Eduverse, and the mira.eduverseapp.net Subdomain
Mira AI is an independent product. All intellectual property rights in Mira — including its name, design, source code, and brand assets — are owned by the Mira project and its owner(s), and are not owned or controlled by Eduverse.
Eduverse is a separate organization that currently sponsors and supports Mira by providing infrastructure and hosting support, including the mira.eduverseapp.net subdomain through which Mira is made available. This sponsorship arrangement provides Mira with hosting and domain support; it does not transfer, assign, or otherwise convey any ownership interest in Mira, its intellectual property, or its underlying technology to Eduverse.
For as long as this sponsorship relationship remains in effect, it is the shared intent of Mira and Eduverse that Mira will continue to be made available through the mira.eduverseapp.net subdomain. This reflects the current intent and understanding between the two parties — it is not a perpetual or legally binding guarantee of continued subdomain access, and no representation is made that this arrangement cannot change or end. Any material change to this arrangement that affects your access to Mira would be communicated in accordance with "Changes to the Service" below.
14. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or the infrastructure Mira runs on (including hosting arrangements) at any time. Material changes that affect your rights will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mira and its owner(s) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content or web research results. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Mira if you violate these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section above. You may stop using Mira and request account deletion at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how to do so.
17. Governing Provisions
These Terms constitute the agreement between you and Mira regarding your use of the Service. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
18. Contact
Mira does not yet operate a dedicated contact channel of its own. For now, contact is handled through Eduverse, Mira's sponsoring organization — see the Contact option in the site footer, or visit eduverseapp.net.
